Do you need an agtech platform

Integrate eoMapper with your myJohnDeere account

myJohnDeere makes it even more easy to use the eoMapper prescription files for precision agriculture. While we develop the automated process you can follow these step to get the data straight from the eoMapper portal to your John Deere tractor.

Log in to your eoMapper account

If you do not have a log in it is easy to create and only requires an e-mail. The login is there so that we can help you to find your files and processes.

Find your field

The easiest way is to got to process choose Precicion Farming, search for the nearest town and draw the field with the tool, save the geometry with a field name and start the process.  The field should be under 150 ha and the process will take about one minute.

Process for the most recent cloud free Sentinel-2 imagery and distribute the load

The process analyse the available Sentinel-2 imagery and calculate a MSAVI2 vegetation index on the most recent and cloud free image available. We will soon make all the cloud free data available for time series analyses and seasonal comparisons, all to make your decisions better.

Make your prescription file

The prescription field is made on a combination of your knowledge of the field and the vegetation index. The metric is kg/N per hectare. but could be substituted with e.g. litre or P if that is desired for pest control or application of other nitrogens or combined fertilisers.

The result is a zip-file that should be unzipped and uploaded to your myJohnDeere account.

Press the files button under the tools section in the myJohnDeere panel. The files to upload are the .shp, .dbf and .shx. and must be chosen separately.

Assigne the file to an organisation

The shape file will be uploaded as a .zip file and must be assigned to your organisation.

Transfer the file to the equipment that should use it.

Forest analyses made easy -eoMapper

It is quite easy to make forest analyses with eoMapper, the online tool for precision cultivation, forestry and urban development.

Select to start a new process, in this case change detection for clear cuts between 2016 and 2017.

Name the polygon as you please.

Start the process and the available imagery over the area will be processed to identify areas that have been clear cut.

If there are sufficient amount of available data the results of the change analyses will be displayed in red.

Now yo can order the identified clear cut areas and download them as shape files or in geoJson format. The processes are also available by API.

Precision farming made easy -eoMapper

It is quite easy to make analyses for farm management with eoMapper, the online tool for precision cultivation, forestry and urban development.

Select to start a new process, in this case ‘Precision Farming’.

Chose to draw a field boundary line, in Sweden there is the alternative to use agricultural block, i.e. LPIS geometries.

Draw a field boundary, in this case half a quarter north of Presho in South Dakota, by clicking the vertexes so the line follows the field boundary and dubble klick to close the polygon.

Name the polygon as you please, in this case Presho, but it could be your Farm name and a number. Press save.

Start the process and the available imagery over the area will be analysed and cloud free images identified. The processes are made with Google Earth Engine and usually take under 1 minute to finalize. For the half quarter north of Presho there are five available images from April 1 2016 until now. At the moment only the latest scene is processed to a vegetation index (MSAVI2). Development to be able to chose between the images, to make time series analysis and for comparison between different years is on the way.

The vegetation index is shown with a brown to green legend showing bare land to lush vegetation. Use you local knowledge and decide which amount of Nitrogen that should be used per hectare dependent on the greenness of the vegetation. In this case the figures are filled for an extra spring nitrogen application. The greenest areas are considered to need less Nitrogen and more the lower the index become, the lowest index are considered to be to sparse and no fertilizer will be applied. This is hypothetical and local knowledge must be applied. Klick the next button to process the index to a Nitrogen load map.

The proportion of Nitrogen in the fertilizer can be changed and the load will be adequately recalculated. Press order for prescription file alternatives.

Vegetationsindex för Golfbanor

Med eoMapper.com är det enkelt att ta fram information om hur grön en golfbana är. Det kan användas både för skötsel av gräsytorna, laddar man hem en styrfil i geoJson så ingår indexvärdena. Men kan vara intressant inför helgens rundor. Det har varit kallt i april och maj och banorna skiljer sig mycket mellan norr och söder. Gå in och kolla själv på eoMapper.com

Kartdagarna 2017

Imorgon är det dags för Kartdagarna 2017. En sådan där tillställning som bara kommer, plötsligt är det dags att leverera, även om tiden inte riktigt finns.

Imorgon tisdag skall Sara, Johnnie och Greger hålla ett mini-Mapathon för att hjälpa Läkare utan gränser med kartunderlag. Kommer ni tidigt och saknar någon vettig sysselsättning så är det bara att hugga in. Ni hittar dem klockan 9 i Mältaren.

Samtidigt kommer Tobias vara med på en workshop om Grön Infrastruktur, analyser och underlag och hur detta kan integreras i planprocessen. Workshopen hålls i Tunnbindaren tillsammans med Magnus och Anna från Calluna.

På onsdag berättar Greger om hur man kan processa och visualisera stora rastermängder i samarbete med Pitney Bowes och MapInfo.

På torsdag presenterar Sara eoMapper, en tjänst för skogs och jordbruk som Geografiska informationsbyrån har tagit fram i samarbete med Södra Kartfabriken. Det är en betaversion så vi håller tummarna för att allting fungerar som det skall.

Utöver det så kommer Lars från Spacemetric berätta om Swea, Rymdstyrelsen nya portal,  för åtkomst av Sentinel data. Geografiska infromationsbyrån var med och gjorde kravspecen för den.

Kartdagarna 2017 sammanfattar vårt första år på ett bra sätt.

Greater Copenhagen -Construction and land development during 30 years

Time series analysis is a powerful tool to understand and interpret landscapes. Time laps videos are good ways to display the power of time series analysis. The videos below have been made with the Google Earth Engine platform and are made up of Landsat 5 and Landsat 8 imagery from the last 30 years. The dynamics of the agricultural land is displayed as evident shifts in the patch work of the fields. Also striking is the expansion of the port areas in both Malmö and Copenhagen. The expansion of the northern harbor in Malmö is specially displayed in the second video.

The construction of the Øresundsbron took place during the time of the satellite data acquisitions. The building of the artificial island Peberholm (Pepper Island) is striking 19 seconds in to the film and the bridge itself can been seen as thin line connecting Peberholm with Sweden.

The southern harbor of Malmo was ones the birth place of large ships built at the Kockums Ship yard. After the era of ship yards in Sweden was closed the southern harbor was planned and built as a residential area. Meanwhile the northern harbor expanded significantly to meet the demands of increasing amounts of goods arriving on container ships. This is evident in the last of the two videos.
